The BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel Regent's Garden offers a unique opportunity to discover Spanish wines.
World tour of organic and natural wines To fight away the cold and blues of winter, the Best Western Premier Regent’s Garden**** is setting off for its muy caliente 10th stop: Spain. This event will also celebrate the second anniversary of an oenological voyage that began in the hotel's lounge in 2010, offering the opportunity to discover a selection of organic and natural wines from around the world, handpicked by knowledgeable and experienced cellar masters. Every other month, the hotel changes destination with a tasting of red, white and liquoreux wines: an original way to discover a land, a region, and a strong culture and its personality, through its wines and its people, all accompanied by culinary specialities from the country in question. The distinguishing characteristic of foreign winemaking can be found in the exploration of unique nectars. A change of decor will take connoisseurs and keen novices on a world tour of organic and natural wines for a unique and unusual experience!
An exploration of Spanish wines Why Spain? Because Spain has long produced good wines. As with all Mediterranean countries, Spanish winemaking dates back to the time of Phoenician trade and the Roman occupation. Today, Spain is one of the world's biggest exporters, exporting mainly to the rest of Europe and the United States, and is home to well-known and prestigious wines the likes of la Rioja, Xérès and la Ribera del Duero.
This 10th stop will be organised by Régis Hardouin-Finez from the company Le Vin Partagé. Literally meaning 'shared wine', this company wears its name well as it aims to share flavours and tastes at humorous, fun and educational tasting sessions.
Régis Hardouin-Finez is committed to the ethical concept of respect for the environment and has individually handpicked the 'organic', 'biodynamic' and 'natural' wines for the event.
With humour and care, Régis will discuss the wine simply and unpretentiously, while respecting its elegance, its terroir and its history.
From a prestigious French business school, Régis is a wine and gastronomy enthusiast. Formerly a project manager and then head sommelier on a luxury U.S. cruise ship, he now works as a company events organiser and as a consultant for the Figaro Club Vin.
