| What is the European Ecolabel? |
| Results and objectives Results of the 1st action plan and forecasts for the 2nd action plan: ![]() The hotel implemented a two-year action plan, from October 2006 to October 2008. The results are conclusive and show a 6.7% reduction in electricity consumption and a 9.1% reduction in gas consumption. The reduction in water consumption and the lack of awareness of our waste production have led us to draw up a second two-year action plan, from October 2008 to October 2010. The main aim of this plan is to control and limit the amount of non-recyclable and/or harmful waste produced. Additionally, the staff have been asked to pay particular attention to our water consumption. With a view to minimising our ecological footprint, the hotel plans to rethink its entire lighting scheme with the aim of having a hotel fitted with 100% low-energy bulbs or very low-energy LED lights. The new criteria issued by the European Ecolabel are motivating us to also reduce our water consumption. The hotel’s average water output should not exceed 9l/minute yet is currently at 11.4l/minute. To solve this problem we are installing high-performance aerators which will reduce the water flow by several litres per minute. |
